If you haven't read my past blog post, What Is Capstone? I really recommend doing so. Some of the things I say in this post may be a little muddy, so I recommend referring back to that one if you would like more insight on what My senior Capstone project will be like. https://tcrudup1.medium.com/what-is-capstone-bac35373e008

Trusting the Process

These past two weeks have really stretched me to think and push myself creatively to come up with ideas for this project. Whether it be finding unique ways to stretch my project ideas or coming up with a seemingly never-ending list of names, This week I learned to push my mind hard.

On top of that, this week I learned a lot about how visualization can go a long way in these early stages of project development. When showing my Moodboard to my peers, it became very apparent to me that one of my ideas had a very clear vision, and it seemed that everyone in the class was able to understand where this project was going. It was then that I felt confident that I had a solid idea to move forward with.

Food For the Soul

I've decided for my project, I'm going to be designing the signage, wondering website, and packaging for an updated version of a soul food restaurant. I'm excited to go forward from this and I feel like I'm in a really great place to get started with it. I think American soul Food is a thing that only a few people from the south really get a chance to enjoy, but I want to shine more light on this kind of food, and the culture behind it.

Moving Forward

With in the next few weeks, I plan to continue the brand identity process to create a solid Logo that I feel really encapsulates the brand. After that it's going to be a lot of working on first comps and mock-ups for packages, posters, and some UX/UI elements. Be sure to keep up to date with my blog to know where I am in the Design process over the next couple of months!
